Beach Read FTW.
Alex is First Son of the United States, and Henry is the Prince of Wales. This is like the perfect storm of romance reading for me. I love anything political and/or British, so grabbing this one was a no brainer. It is also the first book I’ve read this year in the “New Adult” category. It’s a little higher than YA, but not exactly Adult Romance. Clear as mud? It’s fun. Like an 80’s Harlequin romance but M/M.
This story sucked me in from page one. I loved it for what it is. You’ve got the whole political aspect, enemies to friends which leads to friends to romance. It’s a Hallmark movie that needs to be made. Even the side characters are great. The sibling and friend relationships are amazing.
I’m gonna take just a minute to swoon over Alex’s Mom (POTUS) she may be very favorite fictional President. So very cool, both politically and as a Mom. I think in fact that the target audience may even tire of the political side plot- but I ate that up. Bring it on.
I’m not saying it isn’t predictable. I’m saying that it is so funny and warm in a way that you’ll be rooting for Alex and Henry before you know what is happening. I know several college kids that will love this story. Note that there are explicit sexual references.
